I believe we must address Calgary's mental health and addictions crises to ensure that we can all rise together.
If re-elected, I am committed to advocating for the following:
- Establishing the Community Safety Investment Framework Fund as part of the City of Calgary’s commitment to generational investment.
- Transforming our 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year crisis response system into one that responds to mental health and addictions issues with experts including counsellors and social workers.
- Funding the Mental Health and Addictions Strategy, that addresses both prevention and response, which was passed by Council in the previous term.
- Investing in making the city more accessible and livable for everyone through projects like a washroom dignity policy that balances increasing public restrooms with janitorial services for private washrooms that are open to the public.
